| Night is Alaways Darkest Before Dawn? |
 | Unlike the announcement of multiple new franchises, this month we have two. Just like this is not the best time to start a housing development, this is not the best economy to launch a new franchise concept.
Well established franchisors have an easier time helping their new franchisees obtain financing for a mature franchise concept than those who have a franchise concept that is newly launched.
As mentioned in my previous newsletters, franchisors have been assisting with in-house financing or offering revised franchised concepts that require less capital to launch. |

I am not ready to say that this is a franchise buyer's market, however, there are a number of unique opportunities that are available that would not otherwise be available in a hotter economy.
For example, resale opportunities are more prevalent in some areas. This provides a buyer with the opportunity of purchasing a franchise that is already established. The current owner may be willing to assist with financing or reduce the price if the buyer is well qualified bringing cash to the table.
